国际元宇宙医学协会（IAMM）的发展历程植根于全球医学数字化转型与沉浸式技术的突破性进展。以下里程碑奠定了 IAMM 的理论基础、国际影响力与应用示范体系。
（1）2020—2021：数字医学与沉浸式技术快速发展
AI、XR、数字孪生（Digital Twin）、医学数字人、医疗物联网（MIoT）等关键技术进入应用加速期，为“元宇宙医学”概念的提出创造基础。
（2）2022：全球首份《元宇宙医学国际专家共识》发布
来自中国、美国、欧洲等多国专家在 Clinical eHealth 发表 landmark 共识，明确元宇宙医学的定义、应用框架与安全边界（Chunxue Bai et al., 2022）。
这是元宇宙医学从概念走向规范化的关键转折点。
（3）2023—2024：IAMM 正式筹建并启动全球合作
在多国医学中心、医学院与科技机构支持下，IAMM 启动建设：
- 联袂Kai出版社和复旦大学中山医院创建IAMM官方杂志《Clinical eHealth》和《元宇宙医学》
- vICU / vMDT 示范项目
- 沉浸式医学教育与 vOSCE
- 群体健康数字孪生（Population Digital Twin）
协会形成跨学科、多区域的初始治理结构。
（4）2025：IAMM 正式成立并发布首批标准体系
IAMM出版发布：
- 《元宇宙医学》中国科技出版社，2025
- 白春学. 肺结节专家——BAIMGPT白皮书 [J]. 元宇宙医学, 2025, 2(2): 55-64.DOI：61189/530445nlxrhb
- 启动编写《医学GPT》
同时启动全球多中心研究网络。
（5）未来 5 年（2026 以后）：构建全球元宇宙医学生态
IAMM 将推动：
- 虚实融合医院与智慧健康网络
- 标准化元宇宙医学教学体系
- 国际学术合作与监管协同
- 数字健康公平与弱势地区能力建设
IAMM 的每一步都在推动：
从技术创新 → 场景示范 → 标准化推广 → 全球协作生态。

The development of the International Association for Metaverse in Medicine (IAMM) reflects the global momentum in digital health transformation and immersive technologies. The following milestones highlight the foundation, expansion and global significance of IAMM.
(1) 2020–2021: Acceleration of Digital & Immersive Medicine
Rapid progress in AI, XR, digital twins, medical digital humans and MIoT created the technological basis for the emergence of Metaverse in Medicine (MM).
(2) 2022: Publication of the First Global Expert Consensus on MM
Leading experts from China, the U.S. and Europe published the landmark Expert Consensus on the Metaverse in Medicine in Clinical eHealth (Chunxue Bai et al., 2022).
This marked the formal beginning of standardized development in the field.
(3) 2023–2024: Formation of IAMM & Global Collaborations
IAMM initiated its organizational framework with support from medical centers, universities and technology institutions, launching:
- Launched IAMM’s official journals “Clinical eHealth” and “Metaverse Medicine” in collaboration with Kai Publishing House and Fudan University Zhongshan Hospital
- vICU and vMDT pilot programs
- Immersive medical education & vOSCE
- Population health digital twin initiatives
The association established its multidisciplinary governance model.
(4) 2025: Official Establishment of IAMM & Release of First Standards
IAMM Publishing:
- Metaverse Medicine, China Science and Technology Press, 2025

- Started the compilation of “Medical GPT”
A global multicenter research network was initiated.
(5) The Next 5 Years (2026 onward): Building a Global MM Ecosystem
IAMM aims to advance:
- Hybrid virtual–physical hospitals & intelligent health networks
- Standardized MM-based medical education
- International academic and regulatory collaborations
- Digital health equity for underserved regions
IAMM continues to lead the progression from:
Innovation → Pilot Implementation → Standardization → Global Ecosystem Building.
